OMG a lovely lesson!! I cannot believe it! I was so nervous at the beginning of the day, but it went totally well, such a good feeling :)

Things that went well:

- Students seemed to enjoy gathering their own information

- They were pretty well engaged

- They have the information, but just don’t know how to vocalise it

Things that could be improved:

- I spoke for too long. 15 minutes and the students were losing focus. Maybe smaller pieces of information

- I thought that they would understand my basic description of each of the tasks they had to do. BUT now I realise that they may not have ever been asked to do stuff like this. Break it down next lesson

- Each lesson could start with a blurb and examples of each of the elements

- Next lesson I will start with a bunch of examples of FONT and ways to describe it. Some of the kids were lost this lesson, and I found myself giving the same advice thrice over

- How can I get their own ideas / info out? Asking them questions they know the ideas, but they cannot seem to write it without prompts!

Next lesson:

- Break down the research parts of the assignment into each of the sections: Font, Colour, Alignment, Images - Create slides to share that outline what they can talk about for each element

- Share these slides, use it as the explanation at the start of the lesson

Here is the link to the slideshow that was developed for the students after this reflection:
