AWESOME! Had a spare day without classes so I was lucky enough to get the help of Alan McKenna. He is the metal work teacher and is goinv me lessons on welding.

Today I did a Braze Weld.

This entailed:

- Tunring on the gas on the gas bottles

- Flammable gas bottle are the opposite to turn on. As in right loose, left tighten.

- Oxygen and Acyclytone or something similar to the word.

- Each bottle is tunred on, and then the gun gets turned on.

- A little twist of each nozzle to test the pressure before igniting

- Igninte the gas (the Fuel first and then lower the flam right down until it burns with a black smoke)

- then turn on the Oxygen to create a blue flame

- heat up the metal red hot

- dip the copper into the Flux (flux is a powder that cleans the metal as it the copper gets melted and mixed into the compound of the metal it is adhesing)

- run the flux into the flame and melt it into the gap where the two other metals need to be stuck together

PRACTICE! SOO COOL!

No wonder the boys love this class.
