Really a very interesting lesson for us this morning as teachers.
Kylie Gorrie from NORCOM has started a regular visiting schedule to our school to promote the use of IT in the classroom. She showed us how to use Google Forms (Which can sort adn graph and analyse assessment data for us based off of the students taking an online test that we create on the forms), showed us google sites (Which is alot worse that WIX, but is out to do the same job) and had an overall discussion with us about how we can improve our practice.
I appreciate the effort and the fact that not all people are up to speed with technology, but I personally feel that I am doing fine.
ALSO, I do not like the idea that all paper and pen work, all manula, hands on work needs to be replaced with a screen. Computers are a tool, not an end all solution to learning.
I will stop here before I get onto a rant - this could get messy.
Helpful session though, and quite good in the sense that it revealed a few more aspects of gooogle to us.
