Year 12, 13 DVC. We are going to check out Victoria University so that they can get an idea of what life at an architecture school is like. I asked them before hand if anyone would be interested and all of their hands went up, so that is quite a good indication!!
Students in this class mostly have picked this subject which means that they are genuinely interested in a creative field for their occupation. I would have liked to have the opportunity to see a range of schools while I was at High School. This helps kids make decisions with a bit more context.
There is also a year 13 student from 2015 who is now attending Victoria University. I have contacted him and he has said if he has time, he can give the students a bit of a talk as a 'grown up' learner. This is fantastic!!
RAMS forms are very intense, and make you think about all of the things that could go wrong. It is important to keep the kids safe physically and emotionally, and this trip although awesome, will potentially give some of the kids stress when they see the level of work required.
Looking forward to it though, very cool. Kids are asking about it most lessons so it is a good decision.
