This year I am joining the Poipoia - the teen parent unit at school. This will be an interesting experience as the student over there I am helping is working at a totally different pace than my students in the general school are. The learning will need to be totally catered to her skills, and her needs, and will be done in her time. I am excited to be working with the Art teacher, and together we will be creating a custom programme for her, that incorporates Art and DVC standards into her year. It will be an experiment for me becuase it is a totally different schedule.

I will keep this post updated as the year progresses, as I have not even met the girl properly. There are soo many more aspects to consider with a student who is working from such a different life than a mainstream student.
